BARRY RUZAT joined Office Depot in 1988 after an extensive background in both retail management and real estate with several South Florida companies. In his position as Director of Real Estate and Market Research, and later Vice President of Development, guided the retail growth of this company from 10 stores to over 600 retail stores, over an eight-year period. His responsibilities during this time included all aspects of real estate development, market research and strategic planning.
In early 1997, during the merger with Staples, Barry and Lenne´ Ruzat formed Synergy Retail Group, a real estate and market research consulting business. From early 1997 through 1998 Synergy Retail Group was the exclusive national real estate consultant for Gateway Computers spearheading the initial real estate roll out of Gateway Country Stores, in addition to developing the concept's five year, 400 store national strategic plan. Synergy Retail Group was responsible for the opening of approximately 150 Gateway stores and the finalization of an additional 50 leases for locations spanning the United States from coast to coast.
Beginning in mid 1998 Synergy Retail Group became the exclusive national real estate consultant for Muvico Theaters, one of the most exciting entertainment concepts currently expanding in the United States today. During this time period, Synergy Retail Group established itself as one of the top Tenant Representation firms in the state of Florida.
In early 2006, Synergy Retail Group resigned the Muvico account, agreeing to assist in the opening of 10 megaplexes in various stages of development. Synergy has been representing the original founder of Muvico Theaters in the national rollout of Ipic Entertainment, a revolutionary entertainment concept since 2006.
National tenants Barry represents include: StarMax Entertainment, Holo-Dek Gaming, Toby Keith "I Love this Bar & Grill", and Margaritaville Café.
